The smell is strong, which is how I know it has not been deodorised. It has replaced two other products in my bathroom cabinet. Very happy, and I will be reordering.

Blackseed is the herb the Prophetic tradition calls a remedy for everything but death, and it is the single most-requested oil in any Middle Eastern or South Asian herbal shop. Ours is pressed from Egyptian Nigella sativa — the origin the trade regards as the benchmark — and Soil Association certified organic.
What matters in blackseed oil is thymoquinone, the volatile compound behind both its peppery bite and the bulk of the research interest. Thymoquinone is heat-sensitive, so this is a genuine virgin cold press: first pressing, unrefined, unfiltered beyond a coarse settle, and bottled in amber glass. It is high-strength, which means it tastes strongly of the seed — sharp, peppery, slightly bitter. A thin, mild, golden "blackseed oil" is not the real thing.
Suitable for internal use by the teaspoon and for external use on skin, scalp and joints.

A little goes a long way, so the bottle lasts. It has replaced two other products in my bathroom cabinet. Perfectly decent, but I have had better value elsewhere for this particular herb.
Thick, dark and unrefined, exactly as a cold press should be. I use it on my face at night and on the ends of my hair in the morning. Five stars from me.
I have used the supermarket version for years and there is no comparison. I use it on my face at night and on the ends of my hair in the morning. No hesitation in recommending it.
Absorbs beautifully without leaving my skin greasy. The 250ml is the one to buy — the 100ml went in six weeks. Marking it four rather than five only because the smell takes some getting used to.
The smell is strong, which is how I know it has not been deodorised. A teaspoon massaged into the scalp before washing has made a real difference. A genuinely good product at a fair price.

Is this cold pressed?
Hassan A. · 3 weeks ago
Yes, and unrefined — which is why the colour and smell vary a little between batches. That variation is the oil doing what it should, not a fault.

Will it clog pores if I use it on my face?
Nikhil S. · last month
That varies from person to person. Try it on a small area for a few days before using it all over, and give any new oil a couple of weeks before deciding.

How should I store it once it's open?
Dev K. · 2 months ago
Somewhere cool, dark and dry, sealed between uses — a cupboard away from the hob is ideal. Storage guidance for this product specifically is on the Storage tab above.

Do you ship outside the UK?
Hassan A. · 3 months ago
We do, to most of Europe. Delivery cost and time are shown at checkout once you've entered an address. Some countries restrict certain botanicals on import, so it's worth checking your own customs rules first.
