In Ayurveda, Atibala is considered balya, which means it increases strength, vigor, and vitality. It is used in the treatment of facial paralysis, joint disorders, and as a uterine tonic and aphrodisiac.
Atibala powder is used to treat piles, inflammation, gonorrhea, and to boost immunity. The root and bark of Atibala have aphrodisiac, anti-diabetic, antipyretic, anthelmintic, nerve tonic, and diuretic properties.
While Atibala is generally considered safe to drink, taking it in higher than normal levels can cause adverse effects such as headache, abdomen ache, heartburn, nausea, or diarrhea. Pregnant or breastfeeding people should avoid consuming Atibala.
Therapeutic Indication: Balya(for strength), brumhana(increases weight), vrushya(aphrodisiac)
