Good value for the quality
Opened the pouch and the aroma filled the kitchen. I take half a teaspoon in warm milk each evening and have done for two months. No hesitation in recommending it.

Indigo is how you get black hair without chemical dye. Used alone it deposits a cool blue-slate; used the traditional way — henna first, indigo second — it gives a deep, believable black-brown that fades gracefully instead of going brassy.
Ours is a single-ingredient leaf powder: no PPD, no metallic salts, no ammonia, no "black henna" pretending to be a plant. It is finely sieved and screened, which matters, because coarse indigo does not release its colour evenly and leaves patches.
Indigo has no lasting affinity for hair on its own, so the henna step is not optional if you want black rather than blue. Mix with warm water only — never with lemon or vinegar, which kill the dye — and use it within fifteen minutes of mixing.

Very finely milled — no grittiness at all when I mix it. It dissolves without lumps, which the last one I tried absolutely did not. Perfectly decent, but I have had better value elsewhere for this particular herb.

This is clearly recently ground rather than sitting in a warehouse for a year. I take half a teaspoon in warm milk each evening and have done for two months. Delivery was quick and it was well packaged.
Opened the pouch and the aroma filled the kitchen. I take half a teaspoon in warm milk each evening and have done for two months. Good quality, but stronger than I was expecting and I have had to use much less.

Does it dissolve properly, or does it settle at the bottom?
Dev K. · 3 weeks ago
It's a milled whole herb rather than an extract, so some settling is normal. Stir it into something warm and drink it fairly promptly — warm milk or a smoothie works better than cold water.

I whisk mine into warm milk and it stays put long enough to finish the cup.

How strong is the taste?
Meera P. · 2 months ago
Honestly, quite earthy — that's true of the herb rather than of our version of it. Most people take it with honey, in milk, or blended into something with a stronger flavour of its own.

Where is it sourced from, and is it tested?
Hassan A. · 2 months ago
Sourcing is listed under Origin at the top of this page. Every batch is checked on arrival for identity and purity before it's packed, and we keep the batch records for each lot we sell.
