Jasmine Sambac (“Maid of Orleans”), sampaguita, is the national flower of Philippines. It is a symbol of purity, simplicity, humility and strength.
Herbasense Essential oils are 100% Pure, Natural & of Therapeutic grade.
Herbasense Jasmine sambac absolute is imported from south India, where delicate flowering buds are collected in the very early hours of the day (before Sunrise – between 4am – 6am) and food grade Hexane is used to extract this distinctive aroma into concrete.
Concrete is in crude form. Wax is separated from concrete with Food grade Solvent (Alcohol) to get an Absolute. Less than 0.2% alcohol is retained in final Absolute
Jasmine Sambac Absolute is a highly concentrated and precious essential oil extracted from the delicate blossoms of the Jasmine Sambac plant. It’s renowned for its intensely sweet, floral, and slightly indolic aroma, making it a coveted ingredient in the perfume industry.
Extraction Process: The extraction process of Jasmine Sambac Absolute is labor-intensive and requires skilled artisans. Traditionally, the blossoms are collected by hand early in the morning, when their fragrance is at its peak. They are then soaked in a neutral solvent, such as alcohol or hexane, to extract the essential oil. The solvent is later removed through a process called distillation, leaving behind the pure Jasmine Sambac Absolute.
Due to the delicate nature of the flowers and the complex extraction process, Jasmine Sambac Absolute is one of the most expensive essential oils in the world. Its rarity and exquisite fragrance make it a prized possession for perfume enthusiasts and aromatherapists alike.
Jasmine Sambac Absolute is a complex essential oil composed of numerous chemical constituents. While the exact composition can vary slightly depending on factors like growing conditions and extraction methods, some of the key compounds found in Jasmine Sambac Absolute include:
- Benzyl Acetate: This is a major constituent responsible for the floral and sweet aroma.
- Benzyl Alcohol: Contributes to the floral and slightly spicy notes.
- Indole: Provides the characteristic indolic or animalic undertone that adds depth and complexity.
- Linalool: A common alcohol found in many essential oils, contributing to the floral and slightly citrusy aroma.
- Eugenol: Found in smaller amounts, eugenol contributes to the spicy and slightly clove-like notes.
- Farnesol: A sesquiterpene alcohol that adds a fruity and floral aroma.
It’s important to note that the specific proportions of these compounds can vary significantly, influencing the overall fragrance profile of Jasmine Sambac Absolute. This complexity is what makes it such a sought-after ingredient in perfumery and aromatherapy.
